Day 3
Before there was learning how to teach students, it was definitely a different time. That was until the Normal School. There were few Normal Schools around the country; these were used to create certified teachers to run a classroom and guide students through the proper curriculum to graduate.
People may be familiar with the Fresno State University, but before that it used to be Fresno State Normal School which is now the location of Fresno City College. When the school moved and the Normal School became it’s own college within the Fresno State University now known as the Kremen Education and Human Services.
This college brings up the finest teachers to earn a credential and are at the forefront of teaching. I know this because I’m receiving my teaching credential to teach the secondary level in music right now. Fresno State is always looked at when it comes to teaching: some of these institutions include Stanford and even schools overseas through the Department of Defense. I’ll be very proud of myself once I finally earn my teaching credential in May and smarten your children vicariously through music.
This is why I love Fresno.
