Day 27
Fresno is a good location to film parts of movies. Our most recent claim to fame on the silver screen is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. “Really?” you ask? Really, I say. That opening scene of the film inside the warehouse is actually an airplane hangar at Chandler Airport in Fresno. That was a pretty good scene if I recall after seeing the movie only once.
There was a second, much more obscure movie that was filmed in Fresno. The Puppet Masters used the Civic Building in downtown Fresno to be used as an alien spaceship. According to imdb.com that movie was rated 5.7 stars out of 10. Not too good.
Alright, so neither of these two movies beat out American Graffiti rated on imdb.com at 7.6 stars which was filmed in the north valley city Modesto. But, we had a major motion picture with Harrison Ford filmed here, so suck on that Modesto.
This is why I love Fresno.
